I headed to Montmartre the day after Le Salon du Chocolat to explore chocolate shops and chocolatiers. High up on my list was a visit to the bean to bar and award-winning Ara Chocolat. Their founder, Andres spent his early years as a pastry chef in Venezuela and he really knows his stuff. He and his wife, Sabina, have a teeny weeny but divine shop and production unit on Rue de Dunkerque.
As soon as you open the door you are transported into the world of chocolate. I was lucky enough to get to taste his Nicaraguan couverture still warm from the tempering machine. All their chocolates are vegan, there are bars, hot chocolate, loose chocolates and more. On this video I chat about 4 of his chocolates and taste two.
